It Started With a Passion…for Coffee

Mahina Mele Farms was born from a passion for cultivating extraordinary food and living in harmony with the land.

While serving as Peace Corps volunteers in El Salvador, founders Kollette and Jason Stith discovered a deep appreciation for coffee cultivation and sustainable agriculture. That experience inspired a lifelong journey, eventually leading them to Hawaiʻi Island, where they began growing 100% Kona coffee. It was there that they also fell in love with another remarkable crop—the macadamia nut.

In 2005, Mahina Mele Farms was established, growing alongside their family. As they raised their three children—Lucia, Izzie, and Asa—they dedicated themselves to building an organic farm rooted in quality, stewardship, and aloha. Together with longtime friend and farm partner Morgan Perry, they cultivated premium organic Kona coffee and macadamia nuts, pioneering a unique dehydration process that preserves the nuts' natural vitality, exceptional flavor, and nutritional value. For years, Mahina Mele Farms proudly offered one of the only certified organic macadamia nut products available on retail shelves.

As the farm continued to grow, so did its vision.

In 2021, Mahina Mele Market opened as both a production facility and a gathering place where visitors could experience everything the farm has to offer. Here, the farm produces its signature organic dehydrated macadamia nuts, cold-pressed organic macadamia nut oil, artisan foods, and award-winning Kona coffee. The market is also home to Pure Mana Hawaiʻi Skincare, founded by Kollette Stith and Susan Mandini, whose handcrafted skincare collection features the farm's nutrient-rich organic macadamia nut oil as its signature ingredient.

More than a retail store, Mahina Mele Market celebrates Hawaiʻi's vibrant community of organic farmers, artisans, and makers who share a commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and integrity.

Every product we create reflects our belief that exceptional quality begins with healthy soil, careful cultivation, and respect for the ʻāina—the land that nourishes us. Family, community, and environmental stewardship remain at the heart of everything we do.
